A referral service for Hornsby Shire bathrooms
Hornsby Bathrooms is a local renovation enquiry service. You tell us about your bathroom, ensuite or laundry, a measure is arranged, and you receive a written quote from the licensed builder who would carry out the work.
The website itself is not a building company. It does not employ tradespeople or hold a builder's licence, and it would be misleading to suggest otherwise.
The builder
Renovation work is carried out in partnership with Coastal Renovation Group, a licensed NSW builder. Licence and insurance details are provided on request — on the first call, at the measure or whenever you ask.
Please check them. The NSW Fair Trading licence register shows the licence holder, the class of work, whether it is current and any disciplinary history. It takes less than a minute, and it is the same check you should make for any builder.
Plumbing, electrical, waterproofing and asbestos removal are separately licensed in NSW and are carried out by appropriately licensed trades.
Why older homes
A great many Hornsby Shire houses were built between the fifties and the seventies, on sloping, tree-covered blocks. Their bathrooms share a set of problems that do not show up in newer suburbs:
- Mortar-bed floors with no waterproofing membrane
- Fibro linings that need asbestos testing
- Galvanised pipework nearing the end of its life
- Timber floors softened by decades of slow leaks
- Shaded, damp rooms with poor or no ventilation
- Difficult access on steep blocks
A renovation plan that ignores those problems produces a low quote and a string of variations. A plan that names them at the measure produces a realistic quote that stays close to the final figure. That is the approach this site is built around.
What we will not claim
- No reviews or ratings. This is a new website with no trading history to show. We have not invented testimonials or a star score.
- No project counts or trading-history numbers. We are not going to put a figure on the homepage that you cannot check.
- No phone quotes. An older bathroom cannot be priced accurately without seeing the floor, the walls and the access.
- No promises about approvals. Hornsby Shire Council, a certifier or your owners corporation makes those decisions.
How a job runs
A free measure, then a written quote with fittings named, allowances stated and a program in working days. Selections are locked in before a start date is booked. Payments follow completed stages, and in NSW the deposit on residential building work cannot exceed 10 per cent.
The process page walks through each stage, and the cost guide has 2026 price bands.
